Filing Insurance Claims
Claim Deadlines
- Damage claims: within 30 days of label creation
- Domestic loss claims: between 15 and 60 days after label creation
- International loss claims: between 30 and 90 days after label creation
Claim Process
- Go to Insurance → Claims in your dashboard
- Submit a claim form here
- Upload required documentation:
- Original invoice to customer
- Customer statement of loss/damage
- Photos of product and packaging (if damaged)
- EasyPost reviews claims within ~24 hours
- Approved claims are reimbursed within 7–10 business days
Exclusions
Insurance powered by EasyPost does not cover:- Coins, bullion, currency, tickets, negotiable documents
- Perishables (unless fire-related spoilage)
- Improper or insufficient packaging
- Cosmetic damage to packaging only
- Personal goods, gifts, samples, or promo items
- Consignments not tied to customer orders
- Prohibited or sanctioned destinations
- Losses due to war, nuclear events, or customs seizure
